General appointment
At OrtonVets a consult appointment is a minimum of 15 minutes long. However, if circumstances differ, we are happy to spend much more time with you and your pet to explain the different options available or to talk you through any test results.
What will a consultation involve?
A consult appointment will involve in taking a detailed history regarding your pet’s problem and a thorough examination. We will then be able to tell you what the possible causes of your pet’s symptoms are. Then we may suggest further diagnostic examination that may be necessary to confirm our diagnosis or to rule out any other issues.
In some cases, we will be able to prescribe and dispense medication immediately to resolve your pet’s symptoms. In other cases, hospitalization and further testing will be required.
